New blog
Hi guys, So I’ve decided to take this raw foods thing a little more seriously. I really want to be able to build a community around this blog, so I’ve started a new tumblr account independent from my main one, so that I can follow people and hopefully grow this blog.  So please follow me over at EatRaw.tumblr.com  eatraw: Hello everyone, I’m Sarah Cooley, a blogger, vegan and all...

Strange feelings
For the past 2 weeks I’ve tried my best to eat a mostly raw diet. But these last few days a slipped up and had some rice and beans. Each time I ate them I didn’t really feel great afterward, but I kept telling myself that eating this kind of food was normal.  I started having strange feelings about admitting to myself that I want to eat a raw foods diet. I keep telling myself that...

Cleanse Day 2
Today I did a little better, I made it to 4 pm before I really wanted a salad. So I made a simple salad and I was happy with that.  Later I made a smoothie. I’m hungry now, but I’m just going to go to sleep.

despiteherself-deactivated20110 asked: Hey,
I really like your blog and I can definitely relate. I've been trying to be vegan since march and the longest I've been raw so far was three weeks. The best three weeks ever (lost 15 lbs). Lately I've been struggling with just being vegan. But now I'm determined to be raw for 100 days. I started yesterday. I'd love to support you on your journey. :) When did...

Yoga: Getting Back to my Practice
Ok, I have a confession to make, I’m pretty sure I suck at yoga! Sure I tweet about it, and I like it, but I’m not very good at it. When I realized that I wasn’t very good at it I stopped doing it for a while because it was discouraging. But after losing 25 lbs I realized that in order to lose the rest of the weight it was going to take some serious excersising to do it. So...

Review: Liquiteria
So this morning when I went to make my usual “green juice” I realized that I didn’t have enough greens. So I decided to head over to Liquiteria (a juice bar in the east village that I’ve been meaning to try out) and see if their “all greens with apple” was similar to what I make in the morning. Liquiteria has a menu of fresh squeezed juice, smoothies (that...

How to Eat Healthy at SXSW →
I will be attending SXSW this year, and while I’m not 100% raw (I’m a vegan who enjoys raw foods) I was concerned about what I was going to eat at SXSW, which takes place in Austin, TX. So I thought I would share a great post with you guys from my friend Nathalie Lussier on how to eat healthy at SXSW. Next week I’m flying out to Austin, Texas to attend the South by Southwest...

Chiapioca: Chia Seed Pudding
Chia is the new flax! Chia seeds have 11g of fiber and 4g of protein per ounce. So this year, I am going to try and include more of them in my diet. Here is a recipe I found from Raw Foods Witch and it seems like an easy way to start eating chia seeds. Chia seeds are fairly tasteless and can be added to tons of different meals including salad dressings, smoothies, and breakfasts. My favorite is...

Helpful Sources
I lot of people ask me for links to sources on how to get started eating raw foods. So I thought I would compile a list. Here are some good books that helped me a lot getting started: Raw Food/Real World Rawvolution Raw Living Food These books not only have recipies, but also have very helpful personal stories of how the authors went raw, and how they got into eating this way. Other great...

Getting back to Raw
When I first went Raw, I jumped right into it 100%. My original intention was only to do it as a cleanse, but I felt so good that I kept on going. I was lucky when i decided to go raw because I was still living at home and my mom had always been somewhat of a health nut. So I had things like a good blender and a juicer available to me. But after moving to a new city and a new apartment, I...

Raw Philadelphia
I mentioned in my last post that I moved to a new city. I moved from New York City (the big apple), down to Philadelphia (the city of brotherly love). But in my head, these citys have had two very different meanings. NYC (home to pure food and wine, and other great vegan and raw foods places) and Philly (home to lots of sports, and cheesesteaks) I realized that I had moved from raw food mecca...

Going back
This was the tumblr I used to write about raw food recipes I wanted to try. However, since my last post I have stopped eating raw. I have always been a stress eater and food has always been comforting to me. I entered into a very stressful time in my life and I went right my to my vegetarian comforts. Lots of cheese, lots of bread, not enough veggies. And unfortunately, my body has felt the...

Going Raw
Hi, I’m Sarah Cooley and 11 days ago I went Raw Food Vegan! I started eating raw as part of a 7 day cleanse, but I felt so good that I decided to keep it up. I am not sure if I will stay 100% raw, but I wanted a place to post all the raw food recipes that I want to try, or have successfully made. So that’s what I will use this blog for.
